2025 is already shaping up to be a defining year for AI.
AI agents are moving into real workflows, open-source models are advancing quickly, and infrastructure demand is rising as more teams build, fine-tune, and deploy AI at scale. DeepSeek R1 made one thing especially clear: access to powerful models is expanding, but access to reliable, cost-efficient compute remains one of the biggest constraints.
At Hyperbolic, January brought continued momentum across partnerships, developer growth, and product development. Each update brings us closer to our mission of helping AI teams access the compute they need without the friction of traditional infrastructure.
January Stats
Monthly active users grew nearly 300% compared to December
Unique users leveraging our inference services increased by more than 140%
Token processing volume expanded by over 30% month-over-month
GPU rental transactions surged by 170% compared to December
Total GPU rental hours increased by 10% from December’s levels
The World Changed Forever with DeepSeek: Now Available on Hyperbolic
January went out with a bang with the release of DeepSeek R1. Hyperbolic is among the first to host this buzzy new open-source model on our Inference Service. On Hyperbolic, you can experience the record breaking performance of DeepSeek R1 without having to worry about the security of your data. When run on Hyperbolic, all data remains within our ecosystem and is immediately destroyed, keeping your identity and your IP safe.
Empowering AI Agents with Autonomous Computing
One of our most exciting developments this month was showcasing the groundbreaking capabilities of Agent Framework. Our CEO and Co-founder, Jasper Zhang, demonstrated how AI agents can now manage their own compute resources on Hyperbolic during appearances on AI Agent Days and The Rollup Agents stream. Alongside industry leaders from Mode, AltLayer, Eliza Labs, and Eigenlabs, Jasper illustrated how our Agent Framework is transforming agent autonomy by enabling direct interaction with our decentralized GPU network.
About Hyperbolic
Hyperbolic is the Open-Access AI Cloud, giving researchers, startups, developers, and AI-native companies fast, flexible access to high-performance GPU capacity. The platform helps teams start on demand, scale programmatically, and grow into reserved infrastructure without long waitlists, rigid contracts, or complex procurement cycles.
Founded by award-winning Math and AI researchers from UC Berkeley and the University of Washington, Hyperbolic is committed to creating a future where AI technology is universally accessible, verified, and collectively governed.
