Hyperbolic is building the foundation for scalable, open, and efficient AI development.
Our mission is to build the world's most accessible and comprehensive AI platform, empowering developers with affordable, seamless access to meet all their AI needs in one unified platform.
Values
Innovation
Innovation drives everything at Hyperbolic. We build what others haven’t, pushing the boundaries of AI infrastructure and developer tools. From core tech to new solutions, we’re here to answer one question: What can you build with less?
Automation
We believe automation is critical to realizing AI’s full potential. Our goal is to build the most automated platform so developers can start building immediately. Without sales calls, feature gating, or other unnecessary friction.
Open Access
Our initiative is driven by the belief that AI should be an openly shared asset. However, simply open sourcing AI models is insufficient. The predominance of large data centers controlling GPU resources presents a significant obstacle, creating a barrier to AI accessibility. In order to let all people have truly unfettered access to AI, we not only need open-source models but also open access to computing resources.
Collaboration
We believe everyone wins when everyone contributes. The future of AI is collaborative. We work with top research labs, institutions, and leading AI/ML teams — and partner with the biggest players in the space — to move the AI industry forward, together.
The Hyperbolic story begins with the stories of others.

A Berkeley professor struggling to find a sufficient machine for her research on the confidential computation of AI (aiming to ensure user privacy isn’t compromised by companies).
A startup trying to train an AI model for their own use case, giving up after realizing how much renting machines would reduce their runway.
A bright developer, who had built an app similar to Perplexity using the OpenAI API, only to be forced to drastically limit users due to the API rate limit and excessive costs.
From vantage points within startups and academia, Hyperbolic founders Jasper Zhang and Yuchen Jin saw talented people with promising ideas not coming to fruition. Their bottleneck to progress was not a lack of talent or enthusiasm, but compute. So they looked for it.
It wasn’t hard to find, it just wasn’t accessible. There are over two billion personal computers in the world and most of them sit idle for more than 19 hours a day. Additionally, a common situation has emerged where companies reserve machines from data centers for years, only to abandon strategies that leave their purchased resources untouched. This prevalence has only been exacerbated by advancements in efficiency.
Understanding the scale of underutilized GPUs was a eureka moment for me. If we could make it universally possible to run AI models on consumer-grade hardware in a way that’s both performant and affordable, we could significantly increase access to supply for developers and researchers worldwide.
— Yuchen Jin, Hyperbolic CTO and Co-Founder
Hyperbolic was founded to ensure generational breakthroughs aren’t left in the dust simply because great brain power lacks affordable computing power. We believe the future of AI is collaborative and open, and we’re working to make it possible every day.
At Hyperbolic, we believe that we go further faster when we go together, and we’re building the definitive platform to help entrepreneurs and developers realize their AI dreams.
